Kateel Mela controversy: DC submits interim report to Srinivas Poojary

Mangaluru: An interim report with regard to the dispute between the convener of Kateel Melas and its leading Bhagwath, Patla Sathish Shetty was sent to District in-charge and muzrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary by the Dakshina Kannada district administration.
Kota Srinivas Poojary on Sunday, November 22 had sought a detailed report from Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on the controversial incident involving veteran Yakshagana Bhagavatha Patla Sathish Shetty.
In the report sent to Srinivas Poojary the district administration have mentioned the statements from artiste Patla Sathish Shetty, and Yajamana of the Melas, Kalladi Deviprasad Shetty, were sent to Kota Srinivas Poojary by the district administration.
Speaking on the issue additional deputy commissioner Roopa M J said that they have sought a week’s time to send a detailed report.
It may be recalled that on Friday, November 22 troupe convener Kalladi Deviprasad Shetty had denied Patla Sathish Shetty chance to perform at the Kateel Yakshagana. A video of Patla leaving the stage went viral on social media.
Following the incident, Patla had claimed that he was sent away from the state without citing any reason or information, while Deviprasad Shetty said that Patla had gone up the stage even after a decision to drop him was taken.
