Interstate robbers arrested, stolen valuables recovered

Mangaluru: The city police cracked a robbery case that took place in Balmatta with the arrest of seven persons and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 34 lakh from them.

The arrested are identified Rakesh D’Souza (37), resident of Shivbhag, Ashok Pandhrekar (36) and Ganesh Bapu Parab (37) from Goa, Janardhan Acharya (41), resident of Kolya, Saheer Mohammed, (43) a resident of Bendorwell, Purushothama Acharya (46), a resident of Maduru, Chandhan Acharya (44), a resident of Mangaladevi.

The interstate gang of robbers had looted gold and diamond worth Rs 35 lakhs and cash among other things from a house belonging to Anitha N Shetty on October 8.

A case in this regard had been registered with the Mangaluru East police.
