Conman nabbed by CCB sleuths for issuing fake degree certificates

Bengaluru: A conman who was running a private institution and was giving fake degree certificates using the names of well-known open universities, was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB).
The accused has been identified as G Srinivasa Reddy (42), a resident Rajajinagar.
It is gathered that the accused was running VSS Institute of Educational Research and Sri Venkateshwara International Educational Society in Mahalakshmipura.
Following several complaints by the students against the institution for issuing fake certificates, the CCB police carried out raids in the institution run by G Srinivasa Reddy and arrested him.
Srinivasa offered various courses such as BA, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSc, MA, MCom, MBA, MCA, BE and BTech among others. He charged Rs 40,000 to Rs 2 lakh depending on the courses and conducted exams at his office. Later, he used to issue fake certificates of the universities preferred by the students, informed sources.
A case in this regard has been registered in Mahalakshmipura police station and investigation is underway.
