Moulavi arrested for raping, torturing woman

Bengaluru: Koramangala police arrested a Moulavi for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman after luring her into the city with the promise of a job.

The accused is identified as Rehbariya Islam Parvez, he has been running tutorials and madrassa in Koramangala.

As per sources, Parvez had brought the victim to the city from Bihar for household work four years ago. His wife works in a software company. After his wife left for the office. Parvez also tortured the victim by burning her body with iron box.

The police in receiving the information arrested Farvez and charged with illegal confinement, rape, murder attempt, using abusive language, posing death threat etc under different sections of Indian Penal Code.
