Bengaluru: Congress leader and former minister Satish Jarkiholi on Saturday said that the newly elected MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi would have lost the bypoll if Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had not campaigned for him.

Addressing a gathering here Satish said, “If CM BS Yediyurappa had not campaigned for Ramesh he would have never won the bypolls.”

Meanwhile defeated Congress candidate Lakhan Jarkiholi claimed that people of Gokak voted for Yediyurappa and not for Ramesh Jarkiholi.

The ruling BJP appeared headed for a splendid show, leading in 11 out of 15 Assembly constituencies that went for the bypolls on December 5
