Siddaramaiah to reconsider his resignation as CLP leader

Bengaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has conveyed his decision to reconsider withdrawing his resignation if the party high command wanted him to continue as the leader of the Congress legislature party (CLP).
A delegation of senior Congress leaders including Bhakta Charan Das and Madhusudan Mistry held discussions with Siddarmaiah and other senior state leaders over the issue of new leadership of the State Congress following resignations of Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundu Rao as KPCC president after the poor performance of the party in the recently held bypoll elections.
During the discussions, Siddaramaiah reportedly informed that is was difficult to continue in the post of CLP leader owing to friction from few senior Congressmen. After holding consultations with over 50 state leaders, Siddaramaiah was urged to withdraw his resignation, which he said he will consider if party high command wants him to continue.
Meanwhile the resignation of Dinesh Gundu Rao as KPCC president is likely to be accepted and names of senior leaders like D K Shivakumar and M B Patil are being considered for the post, it is gathered.
