Moodbidri: State Tourism minister CT Ravi on Wednesday said that releasing ex-gratia to families of deceased – Jaleel and Nausheen would be demoralising for the police force as their role has now come under suspicion.
His remarks came shortly after chief minister BS Yediyurappa announced that families of the two men killed in police firing will not get any compensation until their roles are cleared.
Responding to a reporter CT Ravi said that releasing compensation, in this case, will only motivate the rioters.
“CCTV footages released by the police recently, reveals that the violence was pre-meditated. “Adequate measures taken by the police ensured that things didn’t get out of hand,” said Ravi.
In response to another question, Ravi said that the footage in video clippings hints that the two persons killed in police firing were involved in violence.
