New appointment should be on merit: M B Patil on selection of KPCC president

Bengaluru: Former Home Minister M B Patil said that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president post should be given based on merit.

Addressing pressperson Patil said, though several party members are aspiring for the KPCC) president post, he has never lobbied for the post. “In case of any new appointment, it should be based on merit,” he added.

“High commands have not yet accepted the Dinesh Gundu Rao’s resignation,” he informed.

National Congress leaders had held a meeting with over 50 states leaders after Dinesh Gundu Rao and Siddaramaiah resigned from their post taking moral responsibility for the party’s poor show in the assembly by-polls.
