Mangaluru: A day after Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel asked Navayuga company officials to stop collecting toll till completion of Pumpwell flyover, a peaceful protest was staged at Talapady tollgate here on Wednesday, January 1.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavayas Kamath and other BJP party workers sat near the toll gate demanding that vehicles be allowed to pass without paying the toll.
“Navayuga company has failed to deliver on its promise of completing the Pumpwell flyover in the given deadline. The officials have missed several deadlines and have been giving false assurance. Owing to this MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has been targeted by Congress. The company has now submitted in writing that the project will be completed on January 31,” said Kamath adding that this protest is a warning for Navayuga company.
