Kolar: The city police on Saturday resorted to lathi-charge on the BJP and Pro-Hindu activists near SNR Circle of Kolar after they attempted to take out a procession without prior permission.
The party supporters who gathered in huge number near SNR Hospital Circle attempted to cross the police barricades despite warnings by Superintendent of Police Karthick Reddy. When they tried to enter by force, the police resorted to lathi-charge and several people ran away from the spot.
BJP MP S Muniswami had called for a pro-CAA rally in the city. The party’s state BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel had also reached Kolar to participate in the rally.
