Vittla: 1 killed, nine injured in car collision

Bantwal: A person was killed while nine others sustained injuries when a Maruti Omni car collided with a Tata Venture vehicle at Radhukatte near Kodangai on Vittla-Salethur Road on Tuesday, January 14.
The deceased has been identified as Abdulla Haji (65) from Kandadka. Haji’s wife Asiyamma, 60, son Ashraf, 40, daughters Maimoona (30) from Kundadka, Kauliyat (28) from Ukkuda, a five-year-old child, and two six-month-old babies sustained injuries in the mishap and were admitted into K S Hegde Hospital at Deralakatte.
The occupants of the Tata Venture vehicle – Anand, 32, and Ramachandra Nayak, 45, also suffered injuries and were hospitalised.
As per reports, the Omni car was heading towards Vittla from Salethur when it collided with Venture car coming from the opposite direction.
Vittla police visited the spot and registered a case.
