Bengaluru: A day after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said that Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will not fight elections again, Law minister J C Madhu Swamy said that the Yediyurappa will lead the BJP in the 2023 Assembly elections.
Responding to Prabhakar Bhat’s statement, Madhu Swamy said, Yediyurappa will lead the BJP in the 2023 Assembly elections and he will also ensure that the party will win 150 seats.
“Yediyurappa will win in the 2023 Assembly elections and will continue as the CM of the state,” he added.
He further said that so far Yediyurappa never spoke of retirement from politics.
Prabhakar Bhat on Sunday, January 19 had stirred up controversy in the BJP circles by stating that Yediyurappa will not fight elections again and has decided to stay away from electoral politics.
“Yediyurappa will devote full time for party’s organizational matters and will work to uplift the condition of the farmers and weaker sections of the society,” Bhat had said.
