School teacher gets 20-yr RI for sexual harassment of class 4 girl student

Kasargod: A 54-year-old school teacher, convicted of molesting a class 4 girl student in the school classroom has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI).

The additional district sessions court also directed the convicted, Rajan P Nair alias Rajan Master (54), a resident of Kinanoor village to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 failing which he will undergo two years of additional imprisonment.

A case of sexual harassment had been registered against Rajan Master, a teacher of the Government school of Rajapura in October 2018.

Meanwhile, the court has also instructed the government to pay Rs 10 lac to the 9-year-old victim in this case.
