Hotelier jumps into river at Kundapura, search operation in progress

Kundapura: A hotelier jumped into the Panchagangavali river from the Herikudru bridge on NH66 near Kundapur on Sunday, January 26.
The person who jumped into the river is identified as KG Ganesh (49), a resident of Chikkensal Road.
Ganesh, after leasing the hotel he owned in Mumbai, came back to his home town and had been living in Kundapura for the past 4-5 years.
Reportedly, Ganesh had arrived in a rickshaw and after leaving his wallet, spectacles and slippers on the ledge jumped into the river. On seeing this, 2-3 fishing boats in the river immediately started to search him.
A fire service team arrived soon later and conducted searches late into the night but couldn’t find him.
