Roopashree murder: Murderer rendered her subconscious before drowning

Kasargod: The city police informed that more details were revealed by the accused in connection with the murder of Roopashree, a teacher from the Miyapadavu school near Kumble in Kasargod district.
The police said that Roopashree was struck unconscious before she was put in a water-filled drum causing her to die of asphyxiation.
The accused had invited her to his house to discuss some issues. An accomplice of the accused was hiding in the pooja room of the house. A while after her arrival, both she and the accused had a quarrel. At this moment the accused attacked Roopashree and when she tried to flee the accomplice from the pooja room held her back.
Roopshree fell unconscious after her head was banged against a wall. The accused and the accomplice lifted her and put her in a drum filled with water, killing her.
The Crime Branch is further investigating the case and more details are yet to emerge.
