Will make Kannada mandatory in private schools: BSY

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that the Kannada language will be made as a compulsory subject in all schools, regardless of their affiliation to state or central board.

Speaking at the 85th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana began here on Wednesday, Yediyurappa said that the government’s commitment to implement Kannada as a compulsory in all the private schools of the state.

“Protection of land, river and language is a key priority,” added Yediyurappa.
