State govt cancels Seemant Kumar Singh’s appointment order

Mangaluru: Within 24 hours of issuing it, the state government, on February 1, canceled the transfer order of Seemant Kumar Singh as Inspector General of Police (western range) with headquarters in the city.
As per the orders issued on January 31, Seemant Kumar Singh was to succeed Arun Chakravarthy as IGP (western range), while the latter was transferred to railway division, Bengaluru in the capacity of additional director general of police.
However, as per the revised order, issued on February 1 Seemant will continue to serve in his current capacity as the IGP (administration) at the police headquarters at Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, the government is yet to appoint someone to the post of IGP (western range).
