S Babu Venkatesh new Coast Guard commander in Karnataka

Mangaluru: S Babu Venkatesh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), is the new Commander of Coast Guard District No. 3, Karnataka (CGDHQ No.3(KA)). He assumed the charge from DIG S S Dasila who has been transferred to Mumbai.

DIG Venkatesh is a 1992 batch officer who has in his career of over thirty years commanded many classes of Coast Guard ships such as Offshore Patrol Vessel, Fast Patrol Vessel, Hovercraft and Interceptor boats.

He has also held various staff positions such as Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration), Andaman and Nicobar Regional HQ and as Staff Officer to the Commander, Coast Guard (East).
