Robbery in M’luru-bound express trains, Rs 50 lakh valuables stolen

Mangaluru: In two separate cases of theft reported on Mangaluru-bound express trains, valuables worth Rs 50 lakhs were stolen.
Police suspect that the same gang executed the thefts on Mangaluru-Chennai express and Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Malabar Express trains on Saturday, February 8.
In the first theft that took place in the Mangaluru-Chennai train, a Chennai resident has lost 21 sovereigns of gold and diamond jewelry.
In the second theft in Malabar Express, a resident of Kanhangad lost 15 sovereigns of gold jewelry as well as important documents like passport, ATM Cards, and items kept in the bag.
A case has been registered with the Railway police and investigation is ongoing.
