Moodbidri: Batting for recognition of Tulu language during the ongoing assembly session, Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian on Thursday, February 20 appealed the state government to pressurize the union government to include Tulu in eighth schedule.
Over 1 crore Tulu speaking people from the coastal district have been demanding inclusion of Tulu language in eighth schedule of the constitution. The state government should put forth a recommendation on this subject to the union government, said Kotian.
He further said that people who speak Konkani, Byari and Urdu languages in Tulunadu can also converse in Tulu as they are born and brought up in Tulunadu.
