Women hangout zones to come up soon in B’luru

Bengaluru: In a bid to empower women and help them to claim their space, the Bengaluru South East division police are all set to launch a women hangout zone campaign to make Bengaluru more inclusive.

So far the police have finalised few spots which inclued Silk Board, Dairy Circle, Koramangala BDA Complex, Madiwala Market street. Most of these areas are usually dominated by men.

The identified spots will have the necessary amenities that have been provided with the help of civic agencies, and working women will be able to hang out from 7-10 PM. The police have invited For women have been to occupy public spaces at night for two weeks from February 24.

Most of the people in the city have responded positively to the initiative by the police.
