Mangaluru: Taking a jibe at Congress, which is yet to appoint KPCC chief, Kateel said that after the party’s rout in the bye-elections it has become headless.

“Congress leadership is not able to get a leader for its state unit even after six months. In its 135-year-old history, Congress had never reached such a pathetic situation that it is in today,” said Kateel.

He further said that no leader from Congress except Lal Bahadur Shastri was upright and honest.

Kateel was speaking at the investiture ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of BJP’s Dakshina Kannada district unit held at the Town Hall here on Monday, February 24.

Speaking on the occasion Kateel said that this investiture ceremony is special as it is also an event to mark the beginning of a determined effort to win in the upcoming panchayat elections.

He further added that Sudarshan has become the president of the district at a very opportune time when the prospects and popularity of the party have increased in the district as well as in the state and with the youthful team behind him and with the guidance of senior party leaders he will be taking the party forward.

Along with the president other office-bearers such as vice presidents, general secretaries and secretaries were also elected. District In-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and Former district BJP president and Puttur MLA Sanjeev Matandoor also spoke at the ceremony.
