Punjalakatte: Woman killed, husband injured as car flips over

Punjalakatte: A woman was killed and her husband injured after the car in which they were travelling flipped over near a turn on Bantwal-Villupuram National Highway near Punjalakatte here on Monday, February 24.

The deceased has been identified as Indira (58), resident of Tenkakajekaru Village, Karla. Her husband Sadananda, a retired State Bank employee sustained severe injuries in the accident.

As per reports, the accident took place near Punjalakatte Bhajana Mandir when the couple was returning from a family function at around 11:30 PM in Swift Desire car.

Localities who saw the accident called for the 108 ambulance and the couple was taken to a hospital in Bantwal. Indira, however, succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.

Sadanand is admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.

The accident is reported in the Punjalakatte Police Station area.
