Mangaluru/Bengaluru: The state government informed the Karnataka High Court on Monday, February 24 that the magisterial inquiry into the police firing during the December 19, 2019 anti-CAA riots in Mangaluru will end before March 24.

Advocate general Prabhuling K Navadagi said that once the inquiry report is submitted it will then be presented before the court.

Two petitioners – HS Doreswamy and former Mangaluru mayor K Ashraf – had filed a PIL in the court against the police firing and have sought a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the firing alleging that the Mangaluru police is bias.
