All four corporations will start generating good revenue: Laxman Savadi

Honnavar: Transport Minister Laxman Savadi said that his department is finiding it difficult to foot fuel bills and pay salary for its staff, as all the four state transport corporation- Karnataka State Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North-West Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), North-East Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC)- is incurring loss.
Addressing pressperson after laying the foundation stone for bus stand in Honnavar he said, “All four state transport corporations combined had incurred losses worth Rs 4,000 crore. BMTC alone is incurring Rs 1 crore loss.”
“The conductors and drivers are not responsible for the losses. They are doing their jobs honestly. We know the loss-making areas in the department and the necessary measures would be taken to plug the leak. In another three years, all four corporations will start generating good revenue,” he informed.
He further added, “Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has constituted a committee to look into the demand of the staff of transport corporations to give them governmet employee status.”
