Udupi: Army recruitment from April 4 to 14

Udupi: A recruitment rally to join the Indian Army will be held at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Ajjarakadu here from April 4 to 14 announced Udupi Additional Deputy Commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu on Monday, March 2.
He was attending a preparatory meeting for it at the DC’s office at Manipal.
Prabhu added that more than fifteen thousand candidates have already registered for the rally many of them are from outside the district.
He also stated that it is an honour to be in the Army, however, not many from the district participate in such rally hence the rally is being organised in Udupi.
Army recruitment officer Colonel Firdosh P Dubash, also at the meeting, said that more than thirty thousand are expected to participate in the recruitment rally.
To participate in the rally, eligible candidates must register on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
Unmarried youth between the ages of 17 and 23 having passed SSLC (10th Standard) are eligible for registration. The last date for the online registration is March 20.
The district administration will also be providing free training to registered candidates. The training will be conducted at Udupi district stadium from March 15 to 31.
Interested candidates must register with Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, Assistant Director, District Youth Empowerment and Sports by calling at 948088467 before March 12.
