Bengaluru: More motorists are now using the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) online payment mode, FASTag, for paying highway toll charges in the state according to the numbers by NHAI.

The number of FASTag transactions against the total number of toll payments has risen ten per cent in about a month.

Presently, 68.5 per cent of the total toll payments are through FASTag.

NHAI has pointed out that some of the increase in numbers could be because of the double charges collected from vehicles that enter FASTags lanes without the sticker.

More than three lakhs is collected daily from such violations.
