Kavoor lake to be developed as a tourist spot

Mangaluru: MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the redevelopment of the Kavoor lake.

The lake will be developed by the Mangaluru Smart City Limited under the Smart City Mission at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore.

The lake which originally covered an area of approximately 8 acres had reduced to 5 acres due to encroachment.

The development works include a cycle track, walking track, garden, public toilet, vehicle parking area and drinking water dispensers around the lake. The stepwell will also be renovated.

Deputy Mayor Vedavathi, Kavoor Kere Abhivrudhi Seva Trust President Deepak Poojary and others were also present at the groundbreaking event.
