Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has instructed Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to stop all street vending activities in the city.
This move comes as a reaction to the first case of coronavirus found in the state.
The CM called mayor Gautam Kumar, the standing committee on health chairman G Manjunath Raju, leader of the ruling party Muneendra Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Anil Kumar and instructed them to strictly enforce the ban.
All roadside selling of fruits and vegetables, chats and snacks and any other eatables on hand carts will be banned in all the 198 wards of the city.
