GP member resorts to black magic for winning cooperative bank elections

Bantwal: A case of black magic in order to emerge victorious in the cooperative bank elections occurred at Sarapady in Bantwal here last month.
The persons involved in the act – Gram panchayat member Adam Kunhi and magician Umesh Shetty confessed to their misdeed after the visuals of them keeping a glass bottle in the bank premises was recorded in the CCTV camera.
It is gathered that the bank management staff found the bottle on March 7 and upon verifying CCTV footage they found Kunhi and Shetty were responsible for the same.
On March 10, the duo confessed to having indulged in black magic to win in the cooperative bank elections, that was held on February 23. The glass bottle was placed near cooperative society boundary wall on February 19 with this intent. Kunhi and Shetty tendered a written apology during the special meeting of the association and said that hat they will not repeat such mistakes.
Notably, black magic is a punishable offense under the Anti-superstition bill, notified by state government in January this year.
