DKShi appointed KPCC prez, Siddu to continue as CLP

Bengaluru: Congress High command on Wednesday appointed former minister DK Shivakumar as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and former Chief Minister Siddaramaih will be continued as CLP leader and Leader of Opposition.

Congress leaders Eashwar Khandre, Satish Jharkiholi and Saleem Ahamed were appointed as working presidents of the party.

KPCC president post fell vacant after Dinesh Gundu Rao tendered his resignation to the party chief Sonia Gandhi taking responsibility to the massive defeat in the by-elections which was held in last December.

“Along with this, the Congress President has also approved the proposal of the appointment of chief Whips for Indian National Congress in Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Karnataka Legislative Council as follows.
