COVID-19: After Kerala, K’taka govt to home deliver groceries to anganwadi students

Bengaluru: Taking a cue from the neighbouring state, the state government has decided to deliver groceries to the mid-day meal scheme beneficiaries at the anganwadis after declaring one-week holiday for anganwadis, as a precautionary measure to control the spread of COVID-19 among children.
The respective district administrations have been directed to take necessary steps to ensure that the groceries are delivered to the students’ homes as well.
The Kerala government has also started to home deliver groceries to suspected COVID-19 patients, who are under home quarantine in Pathanamthitta district
The State government on Friday, March 13 leapt into action announcing lock-down of malls, cinema theatres, pubs and night clubs for a week.
The Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa also issued instructions to stop all kinds of exhibitions, summer camps, conferences, fairs, marriage, sports and engagement events and birthday parties state-wide for a week from Saturday.
