School headmistress accused of differentiating between Dalit and non-Dalit students

Beltangady: A case has been filed against the headmistress of Laila Padladi government higher primary school in Belthangady taluk accusing her of differentiating between Dalit and non-Dalit students.
A police complaint in this regard was registered with Belthangady police by the parent of a Dalit student after the education department failed to take any action against the headmistress.
In the complaint, it is alleged that the headmistress on February 26 had taken non-Dalit students for house warming ceremony, during school hours, while leaving the Dalit students behind.
