Tree Park visitors will have to shell out money for clicking pics

Mangaluru: From April 1, visitors to Tree Park will have to pay Rs 25 as charges if they wish to click photographs, informed Mangaluru Deputy Conservator of Forests Dr V Karikalan.

The department has decided to hike the entry fees among other things in order to improvise/develop the facilities at the park.

As per the revised fees, entry for children below six will not attract any fees, while the entry fees for children in the age group of 6-14 will be fixed at Rs 10. Others aged above 14 will have to pay Rs 20 as an entry fee.

Similarly it has also been decided to charge Rs 25 for those wishing to click photographs. Video cameras will be allowed for Rs 50 and Rs 100 will be collected for cameras with stand. Hosting of parties at the park will be allowed with a nominal fee of Rs 200.

The Karnataka forest department had developed the Tree park is home to different plant species from the Western Ghats as well as herbal ones.
