DK, Udupi districts likely to support PM’s call for Janata Curfew

Udupi/Mangaluru: Heeding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to observe ‘Janata Curfew’ from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday, March 22 establishments in the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts might shutdown for the entire day.

Already, fishermen have said that there will be no fishing done on Sunday, March 22. Additionally, associations of bus owners in Udupi, Mangaluru and Kodagu have stated that bus services will not be operational on Sunday.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has yet not declared any stoppage of services on Sunday Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, however, cautioned travellers to be safe and stated that if necessary the Corporation will operate some services.

Meanwhile, the Corporation has already stopped bus services to Kasaragod and other parts of Kerala after 6 more COVID-19 positive cases came out in Kasargod.
