Mangaluru: The staff of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is stitching face masks for its staff and passengers.

The Corporation first started stitching masks for its staff rather than buying them at exorbitant rates. Later they also started to sell them to the passengers.

KSRTC maintains a stitching machine at each of its divisions for mending seat covers and curtains of its buses. The only expense for their masks was the clothes.

A KSRTC official at Mangaluru stated that they can stitch almost 500 masks in a day and it costs Rs 3 to stitch one mask. The masks are first distributed to KSRTC staff and then to the passengers.
