Mangaluru: As the coronavirus pandemic continues, with now more than 214,000 cases worldwide, fitness studios and gyms are temporarily closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a workout from the comfort of your home.

With most of the people staying home and practicing social distance, being fit while indoors can be a challenge, which is why most of the gyms, fitness instructors of the city are making good use of technology to help their clients to stay fit, strong and healthy.

Speaking to Udayavani.com Yaaz, founder of Fitwood said, “All my clients have worked really hard to maintain their fitness so far and because of COVID-19 everyone’s isolated at home, I want them to stay fit while they are at home as well, therefore I have taken up this initiative to send workout videos to my clients through social media. Using these videos they can easily workout at home and stay fit.”

“All my clients have been following the routine and are working out at home as they also want to stay fit and don,t want to break the chain,” he added.

Meanwhile, a multi-certified fitness instructor, Shan said, “The cases of Covid-19 have progressively increased in the last few days and I have taken this extraordinary step of keeping the fitness studio closed so that my clients can stay safe. Though it’s having significant impacts on my revenue, we have to adapt social distancing measures in some form or the other. So I have started using social media as a platform to educate my clients by sending workout videos that they can practice at home.”

She further added, “Apart from work out videos I’m also sending self-hygiene tips, and videos on building immunity. I’m glad that my clients are following it regularly and responsibly. As a fitness trainer, my sole responsibility at this crisis time is to see my clients are safe and healthy.”
