Compol warns of strict legal action against rumour-mongers

Mangaluru: A day after misinformation about Wenlock hospital was being widely spread on the social media platform, the medical authorities have filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Police Harsha on Monday, March 22.
Following the complaint, Harsha informed that based on the complaint of medical authorities a case would be registered and strict legal action will follow. against rumour-mongers”
He also warned people not to share spread rumours.
“Lot of rumour mongering is going on in connection with COVID 19.. in one such case allegedly misinformation is being spread about Wenlock hospital .. Based on the complaint of medical authorities a case would be registered and strict legal action will follow..Desist from rumours,” Harsha tweeted.
Meanwhile, sources informed that all the procedures followed by the hospital authorities are as per governments directions.
A 22-year-old Dubai returnee was tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment at the district’s Wenlock hospital.
