Udupi: Close liquor outlets till March 31, orders DC

Udupi: Udupi Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha has ordered to close all the liquor outlets in the district till March 31.

DC in a press statement said, “Therefore, as per the authority granted to me as deputy commissioner and district magistrate and as per excise law 1965 column 21(1), I order for closure of all CL-2 and CL-1(C) liquor outlets in the district from March 24 till March 31 midnight.”

It may be recalled that the Karnataka State Excise commissioner in Bengaluru has ordered for closure of CL-2 and CL-11C outlets in the state from March 21, 4 pm till March 31 midnight. All the excise outlets in the district were closed on March 22 due to Janata curfew.
