Wenlock hospital to be dedicated for Covid-19 patients: Kota Srinivas Poojary

Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Thursday, March 26 said that Wenlock hospital will be dedicated only to Covid-19 patients and the other patients in the hospital have been shifted to private hospitals in the city.
Addressing pressperson here on the crisis Poojary said, “Wenlock hospital will be dedicated only to treat Covid-19 patients. The other patients who were getting treated at Wenlock hospital have been shifted to a private hospital and will be treated there free of cost.”
“250 beds have been arranged at Wenlock to treat positive Covid-19 patients, while 20 beds will be dedicated to patients who are awaiting their test results,” he added.
He further informed, “To accommodate more patients, 20 beds in every medical college will be converted into isolation wards.”
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Dr Bharat Shetty and District Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh were also present at the press meet.
