COVID-19: BJP MP PC Mohan donates Rs 2 cr from MPLAD funds

Bengaluru: BJP MP PC Mohan on Thursday donated an amount of Rs 2 crore from his MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLAD) fund for purchase of emergency ventilators and medical equipment to treat coronavirus patients in Bengaluru’s Victoria Hospital.
The government, on March 22, said that the 1,700-bed Victoria Hospital would be exclusively reserved for handling Coronavirus cases.
“Karnataka government is making all efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. It has decided to dedicate the the 1,700-bed Victoria Hospital for COVID-19 patients. Neccessary medical equipments like N 95 face masks, emergency ventilators can be purchased through the MPLAD fund so released,” wrote Mohan in a letter addressed to the CM.
Further he assured of all possible cooperation in tackling the current crisis.
Minister Basavaraj Bommai, R Ashok, Suresh Kumar and Dr K Sudhakar were present on the occasion.
