Mangaluru: Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Pattadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade urged devotees not to believe in rumours that the Nanda Deepa at the temple had gone off.

Speaking to reporters Dr Heggade said, “The temple doors close at 8 pm and is opened at 5 am the following day. No one is allowed entry into the temple during this period. How did someone enter the temple and notice that the Nanda Deepa was not burning.”

“It is a deliberate attempt to play with the emotions of devotees. I urge you not to believe such false rumours. Rather we can all pray to Lord Manjunatha to help us tide over the coronavirus crisis,” he added.
