Tumkuru reports first COVID-19 death; third in state

Tumkuru: In the third case of coronavirus-related fatality reported from Karnataka, a 65-year-old man passed away at the district hospital here on Friday, March 27 morning.
The deceased, a native of Sira was admitted to the district hospital here on March 24. Deputy commissioner Dr Rakesh Kumar confirmed the death news of the COVID-19 patient.
The person had no travel history to any foreign country, but had gone to Delhi and returned by train earlier this month, following which he developed certain symptoms, a senior district official said.
The first coronavirus-related death was reported from Kalaburagi while the second was reported from Chikkaballpur.
