Six officials suspended for allowing vehicles to pass through Heggavadi check-post

Chamrajnagar: District Deputy Commissioner M R Ravi has suspended six officials for dereliction of duty while being Heggavadi check-post to regulate the movement of vehicles.

Mukkadahalli Grama Panchayat bill collector Mahadev Swamy, village accountants Santosh Kumar, K Shridhar, D J Mahesh and Nandish and waterman Nanjunda Swamy were suspended for violating the lockdown guidelines, by allowing vehicles to cross the state border, on Saturday.

As per the government guidelines only essential items can be transported through check-posts. This has been enforced to contain spread of coronavirus.

However the suspended officials allowed 230 state and inter-state vehicles to pass through the check-post.
