Deceased Covid-19 patient’s son tests positive in Tumkuru

Tumkuru: A 13-year-old from Tumkuru’s Sira town has tested positive for novel coronavirus. The infected happens to be the son of a covid-19 infected man, who passed away on March 27 at the district hospital here said Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar.
The boy, patient no 84 has been admitted to Indira Gandhi Hospital, Bengaluru for further treatment. Primary contacts of patient 84 have tested negative for covid-19, Kumar said.
The first person to be detected with coronavirus in the district had a travel history to Tiptur. The administration has sent throat swabs of eleven persons who came in contact with him, and as such are primary contacts, for examination, he added.
Thirty suspected covid-19 cases are being monitored in district. Total bandh has been declared in the district and essentials are being delivered to door steps of people, the DC informed.
