After the announcement of 21-day lockdown, people went into a panic rush and started buying food items in bulk. But, one must also understand that food can start to go bad rather fast and if you want the food to last longer,
Here are some ways in which you can preserve your food
- Store tomatoes, potatoes, onion and garlic at room temperature,
- It is recommended that you boil vegetables like broccoli, peas for 30 seconds before freezing them
- Store milk at the back of your fridge as the area is cooler rather than storing milk and other dairy foods at the fridge door.
- Before storing leafy vegetables, it is best to rinse them first and then dry and wrap in a paper towel which will absorb moisture.
- To avoid fruits from going bad, it is better to juice and store in airtight glass containers, and store them in the fridge.
