Udupi: Several parts of the district experienced intermittent and moderate showers on Tuesday, April 7.
Thundershowers were reported around Karkala, Kundapur, Kollur, Siddapur, Tallur, Gangoli, Hemmadi, Uppunda, Shirur, Hebri and Kamaleshile. The rest of the district was overcast.
Coastal Karnataka usually receives the easterly pre-monsoon showers between March and May with an average of 171 millimetres rainfall.
Last year the rainfall received was 74% lower than the average.
Meteorologists say that this time as the summer rains have arrived, there is a good chance of adequate rains this year.
