Six-month-old baby slips from grandfather’s hand, dies

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident a six-month-old baby died on Friday, April 10 after she accidentally slipped from her grandfather’s hands in Rajajinagar.
The deceased bay is identified as Avani, daughter of software engineer couple Priyanka and Vinay.
The incident took place when the couple was cleaning their rental house on the first floor of a two-story building in Maruthi Layout and asked Avani’s 66-year-old grandfather to take her to the terrace to avoid exposing the baby to the dust.
Avani suddenly stretched and the grandfather lost the grip and the baby slipped from his hand, fell on the ground from the first floor, sustaining serious head injuries.
Avani was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where the doctors suggested taking her to another hospital due to the non-availability of ICU bed. However, the baby died on the way to the hospital.
A case of unnatural death has been registered with the Subramanya police and investigation is on.
