Covid-19 is spreading like wildfire and as a part of its contribution in the fight against the pandemic, Indian government launched an official tracking app to track Covid-19, Aarogya Setu.

The app is available on 10 Indian languages and English on both Google Play and Apple App Store.

The Aarogya Setu app uses the location of your Smartphone and Bluetooth to determine whether you had come in contact with a positive person. The app also tells you whether you are in and around a high-risk zone. If any of the contacts tested positive, the app will calculate the risk of infection.

How to use the app

After installation, open the app and chose the language.

Accept the app permissions and make sure you keep the location to ‘Always’ and switch on the Bluetooth.

Enter your phone number in the field and enter the OTP to confirm the number.

Fill in all the personal details like your gender, full name, age, profession and some other questions regarding health.

The data is shared only with the govt. The app doesn’t allow your name and number to be publicly disclosed.

The app shows you all the safety measures that one can take along with the PM CARES account number where interested ones can donate.

Also, you will be alerted if someone you came in close contact with, tests positive. The app alerts are followed by instructions on how to self-isolate and what to do in case you develop symptoms.
