Healthy plant-based diet can lower the risk of heart disease: Study

There are tons of studies that suggest eating fewer animal products is not only good for the planet, but also good for your health.

Also, a growing body of evidence shows that a plant-based diet could benefit cardiovascular health.

A study appearing in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that eating more plant-based foods slashes the risk of heart failure by 40%.

It is said that eating more vegetables, nuts, and whole grains correlate with a much lower risk of dying of a heart attack or other serious cardiovascular event.

The study results suggest that dietary patterns that are relatively higher in plant foods and relatively lower in animal foods may confer benefits for cardiovascular health.

It also says that, healthful plant‐based diets, diets higher in nutrient‐dense plant foods and lower in refined carbohydrates and animal foods, are associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease mortality.
